3. Data Collection
3.1 Basics
"ClippyDroid" is an Android app that allows users to create and store notes locally on their devices. These notes can be annotated with categories (so called "Tags") and photos. This app exclusively stores content entered by the user and only saves it locally on the user's own device.
There is:
- no transmission of notes to external servers
- no user tracking
- no analysis of user behavior
- no creation of user profiles
- no sharing of notes with third parties
The developer of this app does not have access to this data.
3.2 In-App Purchases
ClippyDroid offers users the ability to make in-app purchases. This is a functionality that allows users to extend the functionality of an app by purchasing additional entitlements.
Transactions are performed securely and encrypted through Google Play Billing or Google Payments. Google is solely responsible for how they process and manage the required data for when a purchase is made. What data Google processes depends on the type of your Google account, the chosen method of payment and the services Google offers.
The developer of this app does not receive personal data like credit card numbers and thus does not store them.
To determine whether extended features have been purchased previously, the app periodically queries Google's Billing interface.
This is done when:
- the app was started
- the app returns to the foreground
- a purchase is initiated or completed
This query is only performed to determine wether extended app functionalities should be unlocked.
